Supporting Young People Who Had Experienced The Death Of A Sibling workshop through Zoom for Parents/Guardians
The Pillar Project is a one-year pilot funded by the Toy Show 2021 will be based in Ozanam House, Dublin 1 (SVP) and will offer group-based support to a child/ren and their parent(s) to support them through the family changes that a loss through bereavement and separation can cause.
The project will be offered to families in the local community and will have a national reach. The project aims to work closely with all community partners ensuring that children and parents have timely access to group-based support. It will also aim to increase referral pathways across the sector supporting the ease of access to appropriate services for families experiencing loss.

This workshop will explore the Issues for children/teens whose sibling has died; and the impact on the family system; and on parents and children individually. Facilitated by Nuala Harmey.

Youth Engagement Programme
A new youth engagement programme that Offaly Local Development Company, in collaboration with Green Offaly, are running in Birr. FLOW has been designed to re-engage young people, aged 16-25, through holistic and nature based activities. Over a 12 week period, one day per week, participants will take part in a series of tailored workshops which deliver practical knowledge in traditional craft-based skills and a reconciliation of self and belonging in community. The majority of activities will be ran outdoors in multiple locations throughout Birr town, all within walking distance of local bus stops. Running every Tuesday, 10am-4pm, starting on the 18th of April. This programme is person-centred and workshops are designed to be flexible to participants’ needs and goals. Programme objectives include engagement with employment and further education. No prior outdoor experience required. Young people can be referred or self-refer to this programme.
