SUMMARY:Putting the Pieces Together Training
DESCRIPTION:The Midland Regional Drug & Alcohol Taskforce (MRDATF) is now accepting applications from those who wish to participate in the Putting the Pieces Together (PTPT) training programme which will be delivered in person. Please note places are limited so early booking is advisable. \n\nCourse details \nPTPT is a training programme that was developed to harness an integrated approach to working with young people\, parents and communities on the subject of drugs and alcohol. This learning programme will train people in the use and content of the training manual.  It aims is to act as a guide and a resource for those working with young people in an out-of-school setting.  On completion of the course\, participants will receive a copy of the PTPT training manual and certificate of attendance. \n\nTraining delivery \nThis training will be delivered over the two days in the Conference Room\, MQI DATS Project\, Tanyard Lane\, Tullamore\, Co Offaly\, R35 V5W4 from 10am – 4pm.  Lunch and refreshments will be provided.\nAims of the course \n\nTo explore and challenge attitudes in relation to substance use\nTo enhance knowledge and understanding of substance use\nTo explore how drugs affect the brain and elicit their effects\nTo develop skills in delivering drugs and alcohol education\nTo develop an understanding of Best Practice in substance use education\nTo develop skills in relation to talking to young people about substance use\nTo give an introduction into the use of brief interventions\nTo develop an understanding of how to use the resource Putting the Pieces Together\nTo develop an awareness of services available locally and nationally\n\n\nWho should attend this training? \nIndividuals who intend to complete PTPT awareness/prevention training with young people within organisations and groups in out-of-school settings. \n\nApplication process \nTo apply for a place on this training please complete the booking form available here  MRDATF Training Courses | Putting the Pieces Together  on 22nd & 23rd April 2024 \n  \nClosing date for receipt of applications is Monday the 15th April  2024.
