Service Description

Our Janus programme works intensively on a one-to-one basis with young people aged 10-17, who are living in the community or within the care system, and whose behaviours are challenging. Extern provides an individually-tailored programme to support them to remain at home or at the lowest level within the care system. The project is aimed at improving young people’s social functioning, community inclusion and family relationships. While on the programme, young people will be offered a range of sessions including special interest activities, day trips and specific individual work. The programme also provides respite overnights which focus on independent living skills, social skills development, provision of respite and problem solving approaches. Referrals are made through the local Tusla Social Work department
